Aaron Rowand for money, no pitchers given up.
Beeeeeyoutifullll!!!!
The Giants actually have a decent hitter, and a good player in their offense. Now if they can just pick up five more hitters, move Bengie Molina to the 7 hole, and Vizquel to the 8th slot, they'll have an offense.
Now listen, out there, anyone paying attention: This ain't over yet! El Lefty's lineup is Kansas City-esque:
Davis LF / Roberts LF
Vizquel SS
Winn RF
Molina C
Rowand CF
Durham 2B
Ortmeier/Aurilia 1B
Frandsen 3B
You've got to be kidding. This is not a major league lineup. But it will get better because, despite all the whining, all the bitching, all the complaining about the cupboard being bare, it's not. The Giants have something to deal with:
Money.
No one is paying attention to the television deal they just announced. It is HUGE. It is going to be a source of serious, annual mid-eight digit cash flow to be spent just like those teams in the AL do it. I can't believe no one is making a big deal about this. The Giants are on the verge of becoming an elite cash generator in MLB, and they will be able to buy some of what they need.
And they'll be able to make a deal for Sanchez or Lowry. And someone will take Roberts off their hands if the Giants eat some of that contract. It's going to get better.
We hit the turning point. Aaron Rowand is a player, maybe not as good as he showed in an ultimate hitter's park last year, but he can play. OK, piece number 1. Two more pieces at least for this season still to come.
I'm on record. Just watch.
